Our Alumni Stories
“Life was not easy being a caretaker for my husband during his six years with stage 4 cancer. Isolation and simply losing touch with friends lead to depression, anxiety, and a loss of self. Then...I was introduced to Ignite Transform, an amazing organization started by a few women...to support women. Ignite Transform’s team of counselors, fitness instructors, and life coaches became my local family, helping me regain connection, and win back my physical, mental and spiritual health. Amazingly, all services are offered free of charge to women who need it. The counseling services helped me work through the anguish and grief, and guided me toward steps to begin again. Attending bootcamp, spin, yoga, and other classes allowed me to work off stress; I felt a renewed sense of physical and emotional strength as I continued the yearlong program. I don’t know where I would be today without the women from IT, surrounding me with love and understanding, and challenging me to grow, in deep and God-led ways. An amazing place to awaken and (re)discover the parts of yourself you may have lost along the way.”

“I was a teacher of the deaf for 17 years and then the director of a Special Needs Ministry at a large church for 8 years. I left both of these jobs due to a couple of factors. 20 years ago I was diagnosed with a degenerative eye condition that now has left me legally blind. I have also struggled with clinical depression for the past 30 years. In 2019 I had a very difficult year with my depression and had a signifiant life changing loss to my vision. In January of 2020, I had to leave my employment and I didn’t know what I was going to do. I was loosing my income and I didn’t know what was in my future. I was scared and lost but was hopeful that God had a plan. God stepped in right away to let me know that he was there. Two weeks before I had to leave my job that I was no longer able to perform a friend told me about Mary Beth Woehrle, and Ignite Transform.
Ignite Transform provided me with spiritual support, private mental health counseling, and personal fitness training. With my depression I had gained a lot of weight and was in the worst shape of my life. I started working out with Bev and seeing my counselor Kathi every week. I participated in group classes that put me into community with other women who also experiencing a time of need. Now after 2 years, I have lost 30 pounds, I am eating and sleeping well. I am in great shape emotionally and I am walking with God knowing that He is always going to be there to guide me and care for me.
I want to thank the Ignite Transform team for being faithful to serve in this ministry and to do God’s work to support woman in and through crises. You have made a huge difference in my life by being God’s hand and feet. Thank you to all the people who are supporting Ignite Transform through donations and prayer. Your sacrifice and support has allowed me to survive and thrive during my time of transition. Most of all I give my thanks to God for being a loving father and caring me through the ups and downs of life”.
